English privacy notice
Effective November 5, 2026. This policy applies to the Qingniao | MailDesk 1.2 Windows desktop client and this informational website.
MailDesk processes account addresses and settings, authorization credentials or OAuth tokens, mailbox folders, message headers and bodies, flags, attachment information, and attachments selected for download or opening. It also stores user-entered contacts, drafts, signatures, settings, rules, and operational error logs.
The data is used for user-requested mailbox authentication, synchronization, display, search, composition, sending, replying, forwarding, draft management, and organization. Enabled rules perform the actions configured by the user. Google IMAP/SMTP access uses the https://mail.google.com/ scope. Our use and transfer of Google user data comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Application records and message caches are stored locally. Message content uses a local SQLite database. Windows DPAPI protects stored authorization credentials, OAuth tokens, and client secrets. Mail connections use SSL/TLS or STARTTLS. OAuth sign-in takes place in the system browser at the provider's authorization service.
Mail data and authorization information are exchanged with the configured mail provider. Sent messages and attachments are delivered to the selected recipients. Opening an attachment with another application gives that application the selected file. Allowing remote images can contact the image resource servers. Website hosting services may process access logs under their own policies.
Local records remain until deleted or cleared by the user. Removing an account clears the application's visible account records, cached messages, and associated local drafts. Provider-hosted original messages remain managed by the provider. Exported files, downloaded files, and temporary attachment copies are managed separately in their filesystem locations.
Users may revoke access in their provider's account settings. Google users can use the third-party connections page at myaccount.google.com/connections. Deleting local records and revoking provider authorization are separate controls.
Questions and requests about this policy can be sent to saratte77@gmail.com. Changes will be reflected in this policy's effective date.
